化合物基于PBT，其中一种主要的线型聚酯是常用的模具（PET是另一种），通过对苯二甲酸和丁二醇的缩聚获得。 由于PBT的许多性能与PA（6和66）相似，所以三种树脂通常共享相同的市场。 但是，这三种聚合物之间也存在许多差异。
